Writing good chat examples

To write good chat examples, remember: diversity is key.
You have four slots, and each one can highlight a different facet of your persona. Most characters aren’t just one-note—like only being grumpy or only being lewd. They’re usually a mix of traits, so use each example to showcase a distinct angle of their personality.

The level of detail in both roleplay actions and dialogue matters. These examples guide the AI on the kind of tone and formatting you expect. If all your samples are short and simple, like

giggle how are you?

The AI is more likely to stick to that minimal style in conversations.

Important: There’s no such thing as a character without chat examples.
If you don’t provide them (or leave some blank), the Soulkyn engine will randomly select from a generic pool. While your character can technically work without custom examples, it’ll be much less accurate and may feel off-brand. Giving specific examples ensures your character behaves exactly how you intended.

Chat example are even more important with special characters, by special I mean mini games, narrators, special outputs styles, etc…
